Booking a one way car rental can be a very annoying experience. Most one way car rental prices are prohibitively expensive (on the order of hundreds of dollars a day)
The only deals I have been able to find on one way car rentals are directional deals. In the spring, you can often find a cheap one way car rental OUT of warm places like Arizona and Florida, as car rental companies will give you cheap one way car rentals in order to reposition their fleets for the summer season. Also, in the fall, many car rental companies will give cheap one way car rental deals into warmer places like Arizona or Florida.
I maintain a list of cheap one way car rental discount codes and coupons, and I have added the below deals that are currently ongoing
Avis has 2 one way car rental deals currently – $29.99 / day out of Arizona with coupon code A081600 and $7.95 / day out of Florida with one way car rental coupon code S705900. This one way car rental deal runs from now through June 30th.
Hertz is also offering a special drive out of Florida with coupon code (rate code) 1WAY – you have to pickup between now and June 18th based on my understanding
To get the $5 deals, you supposedly have to rent for 4 days or fewer, though I could only get $9.99 deals no matter what I tried. Still, it seemed like there were fewer restrictions on locations, which was nice

Thanks for the reminder Dan. Happens I’ve been scouting for cheap one-ways from SNA (Disney Land) to SFO (san fran) for early June — and was seeing some intriguing one way fares via Alamo there too. (but depended upon the day, as little as $10 a day)
But then I checked Phoenix — and wow, lots of $7 a day deals for weekly rentals from multiple companies. (if I start from Phx and head to CA north) Most though are tacking on drop fees — but not Thrifty.
